I was going to try and sell some of the cheaper coins and banknotes I have on that site ‘Fiverr’ where you sell things for $5. Then I read the terms and conditions which tells me they take 20%, and an additional 2% for Paypal. Then I’d have to pay $2.35 for postage on my end, leaving me with a measly $1.65 overall. Even if I tried to sell an Australian $1 coin for $5, I’d...

Continuing bad news for platinum production. Reports out today showing that 11 of South Africa’s platinum mines out of 26 are selling at a loss, with a further 4 ‘marginal at best’. 7 of the 11 mines operating at a loss belong to the World’s largest platinum miner. This comes after the month-long strike at Modikwa mine, and it’s knock-on effects such as Platinum...

Anonymous asked: 1/2: Overgeneralization - Drawing grand conclusions based on isolated examples (one Christian does something bad > all Christians are bad) Dichotomous Thinking - Framing the world in terms of absolutes without acknowledging meaningful gradations (Atheists are smart; believers are stupid) Disqualifying the Positive - Rejecting positive experiences as not counting to preserve ones negative view...

Something interesting I heard from a lecture: The ratio of ‘D1’ and ‘D2’ dopamine receptors you have has an influence on the stability of your relationships. D1 receptors mark increased faithfulness and maintainance in relationships. D2 receptors mark increased attachment in relationships. Having a high D2 to D1 ratio increases the stability of relationships.
